Saturday, September 15 is World Cleanup Day, an initiative born from the The Let’s Do It World movement, which began in Estonia in 2008 when around 50,000 people (around 4 percent of the population) joined forces to clean up the entire country in just five hours.

In partnership with Indonesian Association of Hotels and Restaurants (PHRI), the Bali Tourism Office, the Regional Tourism Development Agency (BPPD), and One Island One Voice, Grand Istana Rama Hotel participates in International Coastal Cleanup Day 2018. Grand Istana Rama Hotel engages the employee to remove trash from Kuta Beach, identify the sources of debris and change the behaviors. Keeping the beach and the ocean clean is one of Grand Istana Rama Hotel’ priorities.

The members of Grand Istana Rama are not only removing more trash from beaches, but they are also contributing to a better understanding of the types of waste entering the ocean.

More than 40-kilograms trash from plastic bottles, plastic in all sizes, paper waste and cigarette buds, were all collected and weighed in. A total of 20 trash bags were filled collected along the shores of Kuta Beach by 20 members of staffs and management of Grand Istana Rama Hotel.

By participating on this International event, Grand Istana Rama Hotel hope can become more responsible by doing simple and effective things in everyday life and pass on the positive energy to closest environment.
