As many of us might know, plastic pollution is a major problem on our planet. The amount of plastic waste in the oceans is increasing all the time.
During the wet season in Bali, we can see the rains rinse the rubbish into the sea. Then the onshore winds bring it all back to the beautiful beaches of this paradise island.

The beaches are of course Bali’s favorite destinations and there are a group of automotive lovers who want to keep these beaches clean.

That’s why on Sunday, 10th February, Kuta Beach Clean Up has been organized by MAXI (Modifikasi Avanza Xenia Indonesia) Chapter Bali, Grand Istana Rama Hotel and GOD (Gabungan Otomotif Dewata) : Jazz Fit Club Bali, Honda Brio Community Bali, Bali Yaris Community, FD Squad Bali, APV Bali Club, KOG (Kreasi Otak Gue) Chapter Bali & YDT (Yaris Dewata Club) Bali.

Most of the waste collected during the Kuta coastal cleanup was plastic. Common forms included shopping bags, food wrappers, bottles and straws. Styrofoam comprised the second most common type of trash, followed by fishing gear, which included pieces of nets, fishing line and rope.

Keeping the beach and the ocean clean is one of Grand Istana Rama Hotel’ priorities. The result is not only a cleaner and healthier coastline but also a raised awareness for usable actions people can integrate into their lives.
